2021 – 2022 EXECUTIVE TEAM

President – Michael Clement Michael is in his fifth year of schooling majoring in both Chemistry and Philosophy. Outside of EPSA, Michael enjoys making music, looking at fashion and having a heck of a good time. President – Michael Clement (Professional capper)

Michael is a 4th year Student specializing in Chemistry and taking a minor in Philosophy. He is a person who enjoys anything fun and helping his fellow students find their passions. When he’s not busy with school he looks to cook, make music or simply hang out with his friends. As the president of EPSA, Michael hopes to bring a unique twist to the year’s programming and allow his fellow DPES students to have a fun and informative year.

VP Operations – Mikaela Yu

Mikaela is a second year student pursuing a double major in Neuroscience and Health Studies – Population Health. During her free time, she likes to take long walks and watching dramas. As VP Operations, Mikaela hopes to bring more exciting events to students.

VP Academics – Ansley Yau

Ansley is a fourth year student double majoring in Biochemistry and Health Studies- Population health with a minor in Environmental Science. She loves anything that has to do with Japan and during her free time she enjoys listening to music, writing and reading stories, and of course, napping whenever she can. As the VP Academics for the second time, Ansley hopes to continue encouraging and assisting DPES students in succeeding during their undergraduate studies and post graduation by providing a variety of resources and  opportunities to help students make informed decisions regarding their academic career.

VP Marketing & Communications- Nahidha Jauhar

VP Finance – Nehama Nayeem

Nehama is a third year student specializing in Biological Chemistry with a minor in biology. Apart from reading novels in her spare time, she enjoys long drives, baking and trekking. As VP Finance, Nehama is excited to work with her colleagues to organize, and run events within the allocated budget. She aspires to help make EPSA more well-known around campus, as well as provide students with equal opportunities and access to course resources.

Finance Manager – Will Lin

Will is a fourth-year student specializing in Chemistry with a minor in Economics. Away from being a student, he is a sports fanatic and loves playing basketball during his down time. Will is always pushing the upper limits of his potential in different realms including business as he dabbles in stocks and other business opportunities. As the financial manager, he hopes on helping the organization from the behind the scenes to give the best opportunities for his fellow DPES members.

Environmental Science Director – Kieran Davis

Kieran is a fourth year student completing his bachelor’s double major in Environmental Science and Studies. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, going to the gym, skating and hanging out with friends and family. Music, movies and fashion are keen interests and conversations he loves to have as well. As the Environmental director at EPSA, Kieran is motivated to consolidate efforts and events of all campuses to bolster academic and career opportunities as well as bring a strong passion of Environmental stewardship to promote sustainability and activism on campus.

Chemistry Director – EriK Frias

Erik is a fourth-year student specializing in Chemistry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports with his friends and loves watching hockey. He is very excited to be a part of EPSA this year and wants to make sure the transition from in person to online goes as smoothly as possible for students.

Physics Director – Pejvak Javaheri

Pejvak is a third-year student specializing in Physics and Astrophysics and minoring in Computer Science. In his spare time, other than playing the guitar, he enjoys camping and burning orange peels in the fireplace. As the Physics Director, Pejvak hopes to contribute to the EPSA community by engaging all students in events, seminars, and opportunities.

Graphic Designer – Zeinab Ibrahim

Zeinab is in her final year completing a specialist in Environmental Biology. She often spends her spare time writing, exploring cities and binging TV shows. As one of two graphic designers this year, she hopes to create media that would inform students on upcoming events and services hosted by EPSA in an effective and positive light.

Graphic Designer – Serly Barzekian

Serly is a second-year student, double majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Immunology and Disease. In her spare time, she loves playing the piano, and hanging out with her friends and family. She loves watching Marvel movies and her favourite superhero is definitely Captain America. She is also weirdly obsessed with orchids. She is very excited to be a part of EPSA as a graphic designer and she is looking forward to creating fun promotional materials that will reach many UTSC students.

Videographer – Maruf Yakubu

I am a fifth year student majoring in human biology and neuroscience. In my free time I like to stay active and keep my muscles sharp on the soccer pitch. I also enjoy film photography, taking only slightly above average photos and travelling. As videographer of EPSA I hope to bring captivating visuals and a creative spin on how we as a organization communicate with the community we have at UTSC.

Videographer – TJ (Tiron James)

TJ is a fifth year student doing a double major in Economics and Philosophy. In his free time he loves to watch and play basketball. TJ is also a movie buff and as a videographer with EPSA he hopes to help create captivating videos.

Social Media Manager – Joyce Liang

Joyce is a second year co-op student specializing in neuroscience. As EPSA’s social media manager, her goal is to engage the UTSC community despite the virtual challenges, and to keep you guys posted on upcoming events and seminars! When Joyce isn’t watching dog videos, she’s singing or dancing in front of her mirror.

Webmaster – Husni Fareed

Husni is in his 4th year of his Computer Science (Specialist) undergrad at UTSC. He’s excited to have the chance to improve the way students interact with EPSA by being in charge of the EPSA website. Event Coordinator – Saba Al-Shamaa

Saba is a fourth year student completing a double major in Molecular Biology & Immunology and Health Studies – Population Health. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and binge watching her favorite TV shows. As the Events Coordinator, Saba hopes to create events that will engage students in new and exciting ways. She is striving to create a strong community with students, despite the fact that students are distant from one another.

Event Coordinator – Tahsina Zaman

Tahsina is a fourth year student completing a double major in Biochemistry (co-op) and Health Studies – Population Health. The 2020-2021 school year marks four years that Tahsina has been a part of the EPSA executive team, and she is excited to meet and connect with many more DPES students. As the events coordinator, Tahsina will work hard with her fellow executives to deliver a variety of events in hopes to enhance campus life.

Outreach Coordinator – Eva Yamamoto

Eva is a fourth year undergraduate student pursuing a double major in Environmental Science and Environmental Studies, and a minor in Geographic Information System. In her spare time, you can catch her hanging out with friends and family, playing sports like tennis and volleyball, taking on spontaneous adventures and travel. As the outreach coordinator, she aims to share her passion for environmental science along with the student community at UTSC and hope to further expand her own knowledge in the field of Natural Sciences.

1st year rep – Patricia Lumanto

Patricia is a first-year student hoping to specialize in co-op Biological Chemistry (plans still up in the air). In her free time, she’s either hanging out with her friends👯‍♀️ or dancing💃🏻. She’s always down to binge watch anything on Netflix and is passionate about environmental sustainability🌿. As a first-year rep, she’s excited to bring more people in to the EPSA community.
